Week 22- Gymnastics

On Monday, we made our annual trip to place flags at Uncle Spott's grave for Memorial Day. Nora doesn't yet understand grave yard etiquette, so she wasn't too happy to be held down. My mother-in-law says not to worry about it, that Spott and her mother and all of the other Prestons, Pratts, and Rogers would be tickled to have her running over top of them, but I'm not so sure.

This week we were pretty excited to take Nora to her first gymnastics class at The Little Gym, and it was so much fun that we signed her up for the 10 week season. The class begins with some jingle bells and a song. Then parents help their "Beasties" do some stretches before the teacher blows up a big air mat. The kids get to bounce on the mat while the teacher shows them how to do a specific jump. After bounce time, the kids get some free play time around the gym while the teacher teaches 3 different skills that the kids can try out whenever they are ready. Finally, students are moved back to the big red mat for "balls and bubbles" before singing their goodbye song.

Nora ran herself ragged, and by the time we got back to the car, she was begging for a snack. I was glad I had some apple chips with me.

The only other thing worth mentioning right now is that we're going on 4 weeks of Nora's sleep being out of whack. She started by waking a little earlier each day. Then she started insisting on being rocked to sleep at night. Finally, she started waking up in the middle of the night with blood curdling screams and refusing to go back to sleep in her own crib. Brad has been spending a few hours on the couch each night, and we're both a little tired. I know that it will pass, and each night we try to get her back into her regular routine of going to sleep in her crib without being rocked, but this child is stubborn like no other. She actually almost lost her voice for a couple of days because of all of the screaming. I know her last 2 molars are coming through, and as usual, they are taking their sweet time. Here is little missy asleep on her Daddy tonight before being transferred to her crib.

Here's hoping she sleeps through the night, but I'm not holding my breath.
