Week 45- "So Pretty, So Cool!"

I'm starting to understand the term "threenager". Nora's just a little older than 2.5, but I swear sometimes she is going on 13. "So pretty" and "So cool" is how she described her new bed when we set it up last night.

Where did my bed go?!
You can trust me when I say that this was a fake smile. He was not very happy at this point.
Daddy's little helper. "So cool!"
Hey, how did all my books get back on these shelves?
"I love it. Thank you, mommy." (My heart melts.)
Mommy got all the thanks for putting the pretty blankets on the bed. No thanks to Daddy who spent the better part of 2 hours disassembling the crib and putting the new bed together for her ha! I'm going to post some more pictures in another week or 2 when all of the bedroom "accessories" arrive. Decorating is so much fun! (Brad might be rolling his eyes at me right now.)

The best part of this, though, is that Brad doesn't have to sleep on the couch anymore if Nora wakes up in the middle of the night and wants Mommy. I can climb into bed with her until she falls back asleep, which is what I did last night. Or if she insists on coming to our bed, at least he has a bed to go to now instead of a couch. I think last night was the first night in over a month (maybe longer!) that he was able to stay in our bed all night and without having a certain little someone kicking him in the side to move over (and out!)

Today, we had lunch with Dede and Grandpa. Nora has so much fun when she visits- she loves her Dede and Grandpa so much, and they adore her, too. She loves playing with Bella dog, and she loves hunting for Kitty cat Doz. She also loves playing in the closet of toys from yesteryear. Here she is snuggling with her Daddy and a baby doll that belonged to Elisabeth 30-some years ago.

And on days like today, she loves playing with whichever of her cousins shows up. Hannah was the lucky one this week. They played hide-and-seek, which was hilarious, because Nora would "hide" in plain sight but then would laugh so hard when Hannah "found" her.

One last tidbit. I'm going to go ahead and call it: Potty trained! I'm not going to over share any of these details, but we're pretty proud of our big girl. It took us about a month with the help of Ms. Tracy. The first 2 weeks were hit and miss, but then something clicked, and she's had very few accidents since then.

So, this week was all about our little girl showing us how grown she is. My heart aches and bursts all at once.
