Week 34- Welcome to the world, Naomi!

This week has been a crazy, emotional, wonderful one for our family. On August 21st at about 7:30 a.m., we welcomed our newest niece, Naomi Elisabeth Scott, into the world. She was 7.5 weeks early, so we were all anxiously praying that she would be strong and healthy. Our prayers were definitely answered when this feisty little 32.5 weeker entered the world weighing 3 lbs 14 oz and breathing at 100% capacity within 24 hours! She will be in the NICU for a little while, and I know her mommy and daddy really wish she could be home with them now, but we are just so thankful that she is doing as well as she is.

I know I'm a tease, but I have no pictures to share of Naomi just yet. Hopefully in the next month or so, she and Nora will meet for the first time, and I'll be able to capture the sweet moment.

The camera didn't come out much this week, but here are a few highlights (which pale in comparison to Naomi's arrival):

I finished my first full week of school with students (no half days) and I'm going to call it a success!

It's football time in Tennessee, which means that Brad is back to working a little bit more. He worked at the Powell/Fulton game on Thursday night. Fulton killed Powell 46-0. Go Falcons!

After meeting Naomi for the first time on Friday, we went out for dinner where Nora enjoyed her favorite food, pizza, and then we stopped by the Austin-East/Grace football game, where AE was sadly not even close to winning. At least the pizza was good.

On Saturday, we took Nora to a birthday party for another one of her church friends, Levi. He turned 2, and his parents hosted a "Bubbles" party, which was SO much fun. The kids all got very wet and soapy and then indulged themselves in bright blue cupcakes.

Nora and one of her church friends check out one of the bubble machines before diving into the sudsy pool:

Today, it was business as usual. Church, lunch with Dede and Grandpa (it was so weird being the only ones there for lunch- we can't wait for Elisabeth, Patrick, and Naomi to join us!), and quiet time at home.

And for a little extra something cute, Nora has been requesting to see Bailey first thing in the morning before she gets out of bed. Bailey does not appreciate Nora's early morning snuggles.
